Background information about 'Total Mastery'

Messticator come out of Hamburg swinging like a wrecking ball with a grin, and "Total Mastery" is the sound of a band who spent the last few years sharpening every single blade in the shed. Their sophomore record picks up right where "Forthcoming Revelation" left off, then floors the gas and tears the rearview mirror clean off. What we get is a death-thrash hybrid that refuses to pick a lane and is all the better for it: riffs that snap like bear traps, drumming that never once lets you breathe, and a vocal attack that sounds like a verdict being read out loud in a language you somehow already understand.

The songwriting here is the real flex. These tunes are catchy in the way a hook to the jaw is catchy, and the band knows exactly when to tighten the screws and when to let the whole thing tumble into glorious chaos. The lyrics lean into something darker and more philosophical than your average pit fodder, circling around the idea of a force above us all that rules, judges and punishes, and that uneasy concept gives the record a weight that lingers long after the last riff has bled out. It is fast, it is mean, it is ridiculously well played, and it never once feels like a band going through the motions.
