Background information about 'Opus Diabolicum - The Orchestral Live Show'
When Portuguese dark metal pioneers Moonspell joined forces with the prestigious 45-piece Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra on October 26th, 2024, something truly magical happened at Lisbon's MEO Arena. "Opus Diabolicum" captures this historic moment – their very first symphonic concert – in all its grandiose glory. This isn't just another live album; it's a testament to how metal's raw power can seamlessly merge with classical sophistication.
The band's beloved classics get a breathtaking orchestral treatment alongside their bombastic album "1755", creating what might be the most ambitious production in Moonspell's storied career. Fernando Ribeiro's haunting vocals soar over lush string arrangements while the band's signature gothic darkness gets elevated to operatic heights. Every track feels like a cinematic experience, with the orchestra adding layers of drama and emotion that make even longtime fans hear these songs with fresh ears. This is Moonspell at their most theatrical and powerful.
