Background information about 'Burning Shadows in the Southern Night'
Necrofier delivers a scorching testament to Southern black metal fury with "Burning Shadows in the Southern Night". This album captures the raw essence of darkness that permeates the American South, weaving together blistering tremolo-picked riffs with haunting atmospheric passages that feel like they're rising from the swamplands themselves. The band's approach to black metal feels distinctly regional yet universally menacing, with tracks like "Total Southern Darkness" and "Forbidden Light of the Black Moon" showcasing their ability to balance ferocity with an almost ritualistic sense of dread.
The production maintains that perfect balance between clarity and rawness that modern black metal demands, allowing every blast beat and shrieked vocal to cut through the mix while preserving the genre's essential atmosphere of chaos. From the opening assault of "The Fall from Heaven" to the epic closing statement "Burnt by the Sacred Flame", this album never lets up in its intensity, yet it's sophisticated enough to reward repeated listening with subtle melodic details and dynamic shifts that reveal themselves over time.
For fans of: Watain, Mayhem, Gorgoroth and Taake
