Necromantia already showcased their trademark sound on this very first recording - a haunting blend that would influence countless bands in the years to come. The omission of guitars as rhythm instruments in favor of two bass guitars created an unprecedented sonic landscape, while eerie theatrical passages reminiscent of audio drama added an unsettling dimension that was totally unlike anything in the metal scene at the time.
The abysmal vocals and pitch-black atmosphere captured on this crude yet brilliant recording demonstrate the band's innate understanding of darkness from day one.
