Austin Lunn's Panopticon has undergone a profound metamorphosis from the concrete sprawl of Louisville to the pristine wilderness of northern Minnesota, and "Det hjemsokte hjertet" stands as his most emotionally devastating statement yet. This haunting opus follows an aging hermit through his final week, weaving childhood recollections with environmental grief as modernity devours the natural world around him.

Gone are the days of blistering speed and folk interludes – this record breathes with the measured pace of contemplation, painting landscapes in rich purples and burning oranges that fade into twilight. The compositions here prioritize atmosphere over aggression, with Lunn channeling the spirit of Neil Young & Crazy Horse into black metal's framework. Charlie Anderson's orchestral arrangements add profound depth, while guest vocalists Aaron Charles (Falls Of Rauros, Rhun), Jan Evan Åsli (Vemod), and Jan 'Winterherz' Van Berlekom (Waldgefluster) contribute distinct emotional colors without disrupting the album's cohesive narrative flow.
