Background information about 'Crux Simplex'
Notorious black metal apostates Profanatica emerge from their den of iniquity with "Crux Simplex", a vicious ten-track offensive that bastardizes the first 10 stations of the cross. Led by infamous master of black perversion Paul Ledney, this latest salvo of sin and sacrilege delivers ungodly levels of bile and blasphemy that'll make your grandmother clutch her rosary beads. The band deals in bestial, first-wave black metal barbarity that sounds like it was recorded in the deepest pits of hell itself, with tracks like "Wipe the Fucking Face of Jesus" and "Cunts of Jerusalem" showcasing their uncompromising approach to sonic desecration.
This album represents everything that makes Profanatica such a polarizing force in extreme metal - their ability to craft genuinely disturbing atmosphere while maintaining surprisingly tight songwriting. The production captures that raw, unfiltered aggression perfectly, allowing every blasphemous riff and unholy shriek to cut through like a rusty blade. Artwork by Abomination Hammer provides the perfect visual accompaniment to this auditory assault on organized religion.
