Background information about 'Mucous Secretion'
Mucous Secretion is the sound of a band that never asked for permission. Pungent Stench built their reputation on a queasy blend of death metal riffing and grindcore violence, and this record drags that legacy back into the light with a grin that shows too many teeth. The guitars are thick and greasy, the drums stumble forward like a drunk tank brawl, and the vocals sit somewhere between a growl and a gag reflex. It is ugly in the best possible way, and it knows it.
What makes it stick is the songwriting underneath all that filth. These are not random blasts of noise; they are hooks buried in mud, riffs that lodge in your skull long after the record stops. The band understands pacing, dropping a sludgy crawl right when you expect another sprint, then kicking the tempo back into the red. It is a reminder that extreme music can be genuinely fun when the players are this locked in and this unbothered by good taste. Crank it loud, preferably somewhere your neighbours can hear it.
