Background information about 'The Stage Collection'

Rick Wakeman has never been one to sit still, and The Stage Collection proves that the man who once draped himself in a cape and commanded a wall of keyboards for Yes still knows exactly how to light up a room. This set captures the legendary keyboard wizard in his natural habitat - the live stage - where his theatrical flair and jaw-dropping technical skill have always found their truest expression. Across these recordings, Wakeman lets his fingers dance over grand pianos, synths and organs with that unmistakable blend of classical precision and prog-rock audacity that made him a household name among keyboard fetishists worldwide.

What makes The Stage Collection such a treat is the sheer variety on display. Wakeman stretches out on familiar territory while also diving into unexpected corners of his vast repertoire, delivering each piece with the showmanship of a man who has spent decades commanding audiences. His between-song banter is charming, his playing is effortless, and the whole affair feels like you have a front-row seat to a masterclass in progressive rock. Whether you are a lifelong devotee of his solo work or you came for his Yes-era glory, this collection delivers the goods with warmth, wit and plenty of that signature Wakeman sparkle.
