'Eisenzeit', the sophomore release from Scalpture, builds on the foundation laid by their debut album but showcases a band unwilling to settle into complacency. The music remains relentless death metal, yet with added layers of melodic intricacy and crushing intensity. Since its inception in 2009 in Bielefeld by founding guitarist Felix Marbach, Scalpture has maintained a clear vision: to pursue uncompromising death metal while evolving into a unique musical entity with an unmistakable style.

True to form, all of Scalpture's album titles revolve around the theme of 'war', which serves as the band's principal lyrical focus. Drawing from detailed historical research, their lyrics explore the horrors wrought by war during some of humanity's darkest hours. While war is their thematic cornerstone, Scalpture champions modern values such as tolerance, peace, and reason.
