Background information about 'Repentless (6 x 6,66" Vinyl Box)'
When Slayer released "Repentless" in 2015, it wasn't just another record — it was a statement. The first album after the tragic loss of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, and the first without the legendary Dave Lombardo behind the kit, this record had everything to prove. And prove it did. From the very first ominous notes of "Delusions Of Saviour," there's a tension in the air, a slow-burning dread that erupts into the title track like a detonation. This is thrash metal stripped to its core, delivered with the kind of ferocity that made Slayer the most feared name in the genre.
The box set celebrating the international Slayer day is something truly special. The full album spread across six black 6.66" vinyl singles — a format as uncompromising and unapologetic as the band itself. You get the whole brutal ride: the relentless assault of "Take Control," the creeping malice of "When The Stillness Comes," the war-machine stomp of "Implode," and the pure venom of "You Against You." Kerry King and Tom Araya sound like men possessed, channeling thirty years of rage into every riff and every scream. This isn't nostalgia — it's a band refusing to go quietly.
