When Slayer dropped Repentless in 2015, the metal world held its breath. Kerry King's riffs are razor-sharp, Tom Araya's vocals are as venomous as ever, and Dave Lombardo – wait, no, Paul Bostaph absolutely annihilates behind the kit. The album doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; instead, it doubles down on everything that made Slayer legendary. When the Stillness Comes and Cast the First Stone are neck-snapping thrash anthems, while Implode brings that signature mid-paced stomp.
