Background information about 'Abreaction'
Abreaction is the sound of a band dragging black metal through the filth and the fire and coming out the other side with something genuinely terrifying. Svart Crown have never been subtle, but here they sharpen every blade: the riffs are vicious and technically razor-sharp, the drumming is relentless, and the atmosphere is thick enough to choke on. There is a distinctly French viciousness running through this record, that cold, almost clinical approach to extremity that makes the whole thing feel less like a performance and more like a ritual gone wrong.
What sets Abreaction apart is how much ground it covers without ever losing its grip. Tracks like "Golden Sacrament" and "The Pact: To The Devil His Due" stretch out into long, suffocating passages where the band lets tension build before ripping it apart, while shorter bursts like "Carcosa" hit hard and vanish before you can catch your breath. The low-end is monstrous, the vocals are pure venom, and the production keeps everything raw enough to hurt but clear enough to hear every twisted detail. It is dark, it is demanding, and it rewards repeat listens with new layers of dread each time.
