TEMIC are the kind of band that makes you remember why you fell in love with progressive music in the first place. An international supergroup featuring members who've done time with Devin Townsend, Haken, Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress, and Maraton, they could easily coast on pedigree alone — but Ceiba is not that album. This is a band hell-bent on proving that their chart-topping debut was no fluke, and honestly, they've outdone themselves in every conceivable way.

Named after the sacred Mayan tree that connects earth, heaven, and the underworld, Ceiba is an album steeped in themes of mortality, loss, and transcendence. It opens with the brief, atmospheric "Asunder" before "Ashes" crashes in like a thunderstorm — riff after riff pummeling down, only for the clouds to part with a chorus so uplifting it practically levitates. That push-and-pull between technical wizardry and raw emotional heft defines the entire record. "Broken" strips things back to ghostly synths and aching vulnerability, mourning the wreckage of a codependent relationship, while lead single "Ceased To Be" weaves between prog sorcery and melodies so divine they feel almost spiritual. And then there's the 10-minute closer "As Long As We Last" — a towering epic of swaying leads, thunderous grooves, and a final solo that will rattle around your skull for days. TEMIC aren't just branching out here; they're planting roots deep into the prog canon.
