Background information about 'Stigma Diabolicum'
Thorns, along with their precursor Stigma Diabolicum, have etched their name into the annals of black metal history. This album is a testament to the raw power and innovation that characterized the early Norwegian scene. Comprising seminal demos like Luna De Nocturnus and Grymyrk, it showcases the pioneering guitar work of Snorre Ruch and sets the stage for the sonic revolution that followed. These recordings serve as a foundational text for understanding the evolution of Nordic black metal.
The reissue of Stigma Diabolicum on vinyl brings these historic tracks back to life with added depth and clarity. The inclusion of previously unreleased rehearsal sessions offers an unparalleled glimpse into the creative process of this influential band. The artbook edition provides fans with personal reflections from band members and rare photographs that document this pivotal era in extreme music history.
