Background information about 'Stigma Diabolicum'
Thorns' early work in collaboration with Stigma Diabolicum is celebrated as one of the cornerstones of Norwegian black metal. Featuring pivotal demos like "Luna De Nocturnus" and rehearsal tapes from 1991 alongside Thorns' own "Grymyrk" and "Trøndertun," Snorre Ruch's visionary guitar work crafted a new era in metal music. His genius blended seamlessly with Øystein Aarseth's iconic riffing to birth a sound that resonated worldwide. This artbook edition compiles these influential tracks and enriches them with personal insights from band members, offering a window into the embryonic days of this dark genre.
The deluxe 36-page artbook delves deep into the legacy of this era-defining music. It showcases rare photos and musings from those who lived through its inception, providing a visceral connection to their raw creativity. The album is not just a tribute but an introspective journey back to when black metal was reshaping the musical landscape.
