The early recordings of THORNS and their predecessor STIGMA DIABOLICUM are revered as some of the most legendary and influential Norwegian black metal works ever created. This release captures the raw beginnings of a genre that would take the world by storm, laying the groundwork for what was to become a global phenomenon. The mastermind Snorre Ruch, also known as Blackthorn, is credited with pioneering the Nordic black metal guitar sound. His collaboration with MAYHEM's Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth resulted in a distinctive sonic foundation that echoed through time and influenced countless bands worldwide.

This comprehensive compilation includes Luna De Nocturnus, a demo from 1991 by STIGMA DIABOLICUM, alongside rehearsal tapes from both STIGMA DIABOLICUM and THORNS’ own demos: Grymyrk (1991) and Trøndertun (1992). These pivotal releases were initially compiled by Kyrck Productions under the title "Stigma Diabolicum" back in 2007 and saw another physical release in 2015. Now reissued on cassette for the first time, this edition offers an opportunity for both old fans and new listeners to appreciate these historic recordings anew.
