Background information about 'Gaia'
Tiamat's "Gaia" stands as a monumental piece in the annals of doom metal, extracted from the band's pivotal album "Wildhoney." This re-issue encapsulates the essence of 90s doom rock innovation under the visionary guidance of Johan Edlund. Tiamat's soundscape is a confluence of heavy riffs and atmospheric melodies, reminiscent of Pink Floyd's psychedelic influences. The album features refined versions of their classic tracks, including the immersive "Gaia" and an evocative rendition of "When You're In," blending progressive rock with doom metal elements.
The re-issue is not merely a revisit but a celebration of Tiamat's enduring impact on the genre. With enhanced artwork and meticulous remastering, it offers both nostalgic fans and new listeners an opportunity to experience the intricate layers and emotional depth that define Tiamat's sound. This record is a testament to how Tiamat continues to shape and redefine musical boundaries.
