There are records that hit you square in the chest and refuse to let go, and "Inhale The Void" is precisely one of those. Wound came out of nowhere in 2013 and delivered a slab of death metal so barbed, so suffocating, that it still sounds like a hammer blow a decade later. From the opening seconds of "Odium" you know exactly what you are in for: no build-up, no mercy, just a wall of downtuned riffing that drags you under.
What sets Wound apart is how they balance brutality with atmosphere. Tracks like "Codex Arcanum" and "The Unsolved Obscurity" weave eerie, almost ritualistic melodies into the crushing weight, giving the whole thing a genuinely claustrophobic, occult-tinged edge. The rhythm section is relentless, the vocals are a raw, guttural roar that never lets up, and the songwriting has that rare quality where every track feels like it belongs to a single, cohesive descent into darkness. "Forever Denial" and "Corroded From Within" are pure headbanging fury, while the title track closes things out with an almost suffocating sense of finality. This is underground death metal done right: honest, heavy, and completely unapologetic.
