Background information about '...by the Word...'
Trelldom have unleashed something truly extraordinary with "...by the Word...", a sonic beast that pushes the boundaries of extreme music into uncharted territories. This isn't just another black metal album – it's a complete artistic metamorphosis that showcases mastermind Kristian Eivind Espedal (Gaahl) at his most unhinged and brilliant. Following the momentum of their comeback album "...by the shadows..." (2024), which ended a 17-year silence, Trelldom have now crafted something even more twisted and ferocious.
The album represents Espedal's boldest vocal exploration yet, recorded at the legendary Grieghallen Studios in Bergen with producer Eirik Hundvin (Pytten) – the very place where the Norwegian black metal sound was forged. Every track on "...by the Word..." bristles with avant-garde dissonance, wicked rhythm patterns, and ideas so wild they'll shatter your preconceptions. This is music that demands your complete attention, challenging every expectation with its complex yet sinister approach. The Norwegians have proven that evolution doesn't mean compromise – their new sound is darker and fiercer than ever, just delivered through more sophisticated and unhinged methods.
