Background information about '+ där skogen sjunger under evighetens granar +'
Swedish progressive metal outfit Vildhjarta returns with their most ambitious and atmospheric work yet on "+ där skogen sjunger under evighetens granar +" (Where the Forest Sings Under Eternity's Pines). This sprawling double album showcases the band's signature "thall" sound - their unique blend of djent-influenced polyrhythms, ambient passages, and crushing heaviness - while incorporating more melodic and introspective elements than ever before. The Swedish lyrics add an extra layer of mystique and connection to their Nordic roots, creating an immersive journey through dark forests and eternal landscapes.
The album flows seamlessly between bone-crushing riffs like those found in "+ sargasso +" and "+ viktlös & evig +" to more contemplative moments such as "+ tva vackra svanar +" and the closing epic "+ den spanska känslan +". Vildhjarta's ability to balance brutality with beauty has never been more evident, as they weave together complex time signatures with haunting melodies that linger long after the final note fades. The production captures both the crushing low-end and the delicate atmospheric details, making this their most sonically diverse release to date.
