Background information about 'Dead Space Enigma'

Extreme metal is governed by supernatural forces, and when its stars align the results are more stunning than a supernova. Void Sector Zero pull current and former members of Necrophagist, Revocation and Decrepit Birth into the same orbit, and on their debut they blast straight into an alien dimension that is fresh, fun and genuinely frightening. "Dead Space Enigma" rips a hole through the space-time continuum with a modern spin on progressive thrash metal, and it does so with the swagger of a band that knows exactly how good it is.

The chemistry was forged four years ago, when guitarist Christian Muenzner, vocalist and bassist Alex Webber and drummer Gabe Seeber hit it off while touring the world with Obscura behind "A Valediction". That incubation pays off here in spectacular fashion. Lead single "Vortex Divinium" whirls at hyper speed through the warped mind of Bob Lazar, propelled by gravity-defying bass runs and a dizzying solo that welds 70s prog rock to jazz fusion. Elsewhere the band gravitate toward late 80s tech-thrash and early 90s technical death metal, yet the record teems with life-forms from across the metal universe: cosmic sprinkles of hard rock and trad metal, the twisted time signatures of "Extraterrestrial Disassembly" unravelling into a DMT trip gone horribly wrong, and "Ammutseba" banging heads in honour of a great Lovecraftian deity, its all-consuming chorus speaking to this band's place among the gods of extreme metal.
