Background information about 'Runaljod - Gap Var Ginnunga'
Wardruna delivers a breathtaking sonic journey into the heart of ancient Norse mysticism with "Runaljod - Gap Var Ginnunga". This masterpiece stands as the first chapter in their acclaimed Runaljod trilogy, weaving together traditional Nordic instruments, ritualistic vocals, and primal percussion into something truly transcendent. Each track pulses with the raw energy of forgotten runes, where Einar Selvik's haunting voice channels the wisdom of elder gods through carefully crafted soundscapes that feel both ancient and eternally relevant.
The album unfolds like a sacred ceremony, with tracks like "Hagal" and "Bjarkan" creating atmospheric tapestries that transport listeners to windswept fjords and sacred groves. The interplay between traditional instruments like the tagelharpa, goat horn, and frame drums creates textures so rich you can practically feel the mist rolling off Norwegian mountains. This isn't just music – it's a spiritual experience that connects modern souls to the primal forces that shaped our ancestors' understanding of the cosmos.
