Background information about 'Berlin Occult Bureau'

Sometimes an album walks in and immediately claims the room. Winters do exactly that with "Berlin Occult Bureau", a record that smells like cold concrete, spilled beer and cheap incense burning in a backroom. The German outfit drags doom metal through the gutter and back out into the neon, and the result is far more fun than a genre tag like "Doom Metal" would ever suggest. Riffs lumber, sure, but they also swagger. There is a punk sneer buried under all that low-end weight, and it keeps the whole thing restless instead of sluggish.

Listen to how the band refuses to sit still. "Ausländer" and "Schwarze Kraft" hit like a bar fight that suddenly turns into a singalong, while the title track "Berlin Occult Bureau" stretches out and lets the atmosphere curdle beautifully. "Ace Frehley" is a gloriously weird curveball, and "Run Run Run Run" sprints where you expected it to crawl. Then "Geistkämpfer" closes the door with a slow, heavy hand. It is gritty, theatrical, and completely unbothered by what anyone else in the scene is doing — a love letter to a city that never quite sleeps and never quite forgives.
