Background information about 'The Forest Seasons'

Wintersun returns with their third studio masterpiece, a symphonic metal opus that chronicles nature's eternal cycle through four monumental compositions. Each track represents a season, weaving together Jari Mäenpää's visionary songwriting with orchestral grandeur that rivals film scores. "Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring)" bursts forth with renewed life, while "The Forest That Weeps (Summer)" delivers crushing melodic death metal passages interwoven with folk melodies that dance like sunlight through ancient trees.

The album's second half ventures into darker territories with "Eternal Darkness (Autumn)" showcasing the band's progressive metal prowess through complex time signatures and haunting keyboard arrangements. The journey concludes with "Loneliness (Winter)", a nearly 13-minute epic that combines black metal ferocity with moments of crystalline beauty. The production captures every nuance, from whispered clean vocals to thunderous blast beats, creating an immersive sonic landscape that demands repeated exploration.
