Background information about 'Lowest Form'
200 STAB WOUNDS don't do subtle. "Lowest Form" arrives like a boot to the teeth, all blunt-force riffing and that gloriously ugly tone that made Cleveland's filthiest export such a joy to behold. This is death metal that remembers it's supposed to be fun — the kind of record that makes you want to punch a wall and hug your friends at the same time. The guitars grind and squeal, the rhythm section lurches with the menace of a dump truck going downhill with no brakes, and every guttural roar lands like a sledgehammer to the sternum. There's a swing to the brutality here that separates these guys from the pack; they know when to slow the whole thing down to a sickening crawl and when to slam the accelerator through the floor.
What makes "Lowest Form" such a thrill is how unpretentious it all is. No symphonic interludes, no self-important concept about the cosmos — just pure, unfiltered aggression delivered with the swagger of a band that knows exactly how nasty they sound. The production keeps things raw enough to feel dangerous but clear enough that you can pick out every twisted riff and every bone-rattling breakdown. It's the sound of a basement show turned up to eleven, and honestly, that's exactly what this genre needs more of.
