Background information about 'Lowest Form'
Lowest Form is the sound of a band deciding that subtlety was never part of the deal. 200 Stab Wounds come out of Cleveland swinging, and this record lands like a fist through drywall — filthy, low-slung death metal with a hardcore pulse, riffs that drag themselves through the mud and then suddenly snap into a groove you can't shake. There's a real sense of craft underneath all that grime: the guitar tone is thick enough to lean on, the drums swing between bludgeon and swagger, and the vocals sit somewhere between a growl and a threat.
What makes it stick, though, is the pacing. Nothing overstays its welcome. Tracks lurch, stomp, and cut out before you've had time to catch your breath, and the whole thing feels like it was tracked live in a room that smelled like spilled beer and old blood. It's nasty in the best possible way, and it never once pretends to be anything other than what it is.
