Background information about 'Sorg'
Afsky delivers a haunting masterpiece with "Sorg", their debut album that stands as a cold atmospheric representative of the DSBM genre. This is where raw coldness meets the magnificence of nature, creating a sound that's both harrowing and beautiful. The doomy folk and classical music elements emerge here and there like whispers from ancient forests, including the mesmerizing guest contribution of Amalie Bruun (Myrkur) on nykelharpa and clean vocals that pierce through the darkness.
Written during a time of frustration, sadness and dark emotions, the lyrics lead you through a haunting exploration of suffering's various shades while reflecting nature's eternal inspiration and shelter. This album expresses exactly what Afsky and "Sorg" stand for: disgust and sadness intertwined. It's the cradle and cornerstone bearing all the hallmarks of Afsky in their original and pristine sound.
