Background information about 'Unholy Death'

Back in 1993, Sweden's most demented twins Hellbutcher and Tyrant unleashed their only demo "Unholy Death" - a raw, uncompromising slab of blackened thrash that would lay the foundation for their legendary career. While the production might be rough around the edges and the performance carries that authentic early '90s rawness, these tracks already showcase the unmistakable Nifelheim trademarks that fans would come to worship. Hellbutcher's utterly possessed, insane screams pierce through the lo-fi haze while their natural songwriting talent and sense for twisted melody transforms what could have been just another bedroom recording into something genuinely special.

This comprehensive compilation goes way beyond the original 4-track demo, featuring 12 tracks spanning almost 40 minutes of pure Swedish black metal madness. Nifelheim dug deep into their archives to unearth unreleased gems from the same recording sessions, including 4 additional original compositions, 2 intros, and covers of Motörhead's "Mean Machine" and Bathory's "Reaper". The material has been lovingly remixed from the original master tapes and properly mastered, giving these early recordings the treatment they deserve while maintaining their primitive, evil atmosphere.
