Black vinyl in standard cover.

Background information about 'À La Croisée Des Vents'

Aorlhac delivers a masterful exploration of Occitan heritage with "À La Croisée Des Vents", a black metal opus that breathes life into the forgotten tales of southern France. This isn't just another atmospheric black metal release – it's a historical chronicle wrapped in blistering riffs and haunting melodies that transport listeners to medieval battlefields and plague-ridden villages. The French masters craft their narratives with surgical precision, weaving together brutal passages like "La guillotine est fort expéditive" with the epic storytelling of "Le charroi de Nîmes", creating a sonic tapestry that honors their ancestors while pushing the boundaries of the genre.

The album's second half showcases Aorlhac's versatility, from the self-titled anthem that bears their name to the chilling "1693-1694 Famine et anthropophagie", which confronts the darkest chapters of regional history with unflinching honesty. Each track serves as a window into Occitan culture, delivered through tremolo-picked guitars and commanding vocals that feel both ancient and urgently contemporary. This is black metal with purpose – a cultural preservation project disguised as an extreme metal assault.
