Background information about 'Shining'
SHINING returns with their self-titled masterpiece that cuts through the darkness like a razor blade dipped in melancholy. This album represents the Swedish collective's most refined and devastating work to date, weaving together their signature blend of depressive black metal with moments of haunting beauty that will leave you breathless. The band's ability to channel pure despair into sonic gold has never been more apparent than on tracks like "Snart Är Dom Alla Borta" and "Allt För Döden", where Niklas Kvarforth's tortured vocals dance over hypnotic guitar melodies that burrow deep into your soul.
What makes this release truly special is the guest appearance by legendary guitarist Andy La Rocque on "Fidelis Ad Mortem", adding a layer of technical prowess that elevates the already stellar composition. The production strikes the perfect balance between raw emotion and polished clarity, allowing every nuance of pain and beauty to shine through. From the opening moments of "Avsändare Okänd" to the closing devastation of "Den Permanenta Sömnen Kallar", this album takes you on a journey through the darkest corners of human experience while somehow managing to find light in the shadows.
