Background information about 'Revelation (Re-Issue)'

Armored Saint have never been a band that plays it safe, and Revelation proves that with every bone-crushing riff and soaring vocal line. Originally released in 2000, this album marked a significant chapter for the California quintet — a return after a five-year hiatus that saw them come back hungrier, tighter, and with something to prove. And prove it they did.

From the moment the opening track kicks in, you're hit with that signature Armored Saint sound: John Bush's unmistakable, powerful vocals riding over riffs that are both heavy and melodic. Tracks like "After Me, The Flood" and "Tenshi" showcase the band's ability to blend thunderous aggression with an almost anthemic sense of melody. There's a raw energy here that feels alive, unpolished in the best possible way. The rhythm section locks in like a freight train, and the guitar work — courtesy of Phil Sandoval and Jeff Duncan — is nothing short of masterful, switching from galloping thrash-inspired runs to slower, doom-laden passages with ease.

What makes Revelation stand out in the band's discography is its almost palpable sense of urgency. This isn't a band resting on past glories; it's a band clawing its way back into the spotlight with fists clenched. The production is warm but gritty, giving the album a live-in-the-studio feel that suits the material perfectly. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer looking for a gateway into one of heavy metal's most underrated acts, this record delivers on every front.
