Background information about 'Nonagon'
There are albums that simply crush you from the first second, and then there's Blood Red Throne's "Nonagon" — a record that doesn't just crush, it grinds, pulverizes, and desecrates everything in its path. The Norwegian death metal veterans have been at this since the late 90s, and with "Nonagon" they deliver arguably their most focused and ferocious statement yet. From the moment "Epitaph Inscribed" kicks in with that signature chainsaw guitar tone, you know you're in for a ride through the darkest corners of extreme metal.
What makes "Nonagon" truly special is how it balances sheer brutality with genuine songwriting. Tracks like "Ode To The Obscene" and "Tempest Sculptor" showcase the band's ability to weave crushing riffs into memorable, almost anthemic structures without ever sacrificing an ounce of aggression. The production is massive — thick, organic, and devastatingly heavy, giving every blast beat and guttural roar the space it deserves. Død's vocal performance is nothing short of monstrous, spitting venom with a clarity that makes every lyric land like a sledgehammer. This is death metal played by people who live and breathe it, and it shows in every groove, every tempo shift, and every perfectly placed solo.
