Background information about 'Demos & Live 1988-1991'
Before Norway became the undisputed kingdom of black metal, the frozen fjords birthed some absolutely devastating death metal acts that deserve every ounce of recognition. Cadaver stands as one of those pioneering forces, and this retrospective collection is nothing short of essential for anyone who worships at the altar of extreme metal history. Founded by underground legend Anders Odden in 1988, these Norwegian death metal architects carved out their legacy with a ferocity that would make even the most hardened metalheads take notice.
"Demos & Live 1988-1991" captures Cadaver in their most raw and uncompromising form – before they secured their legendary deal with Necrosis Records and unleashed "Hallucinating Anxiety" upon the world. This isn't just a collection; it's a time machine that transports you directly into the sweaty, beer-soaked underground venues where death metal was still finding its voice. The completely remastered tracks from the original tapes by Patrick W. Engel showcase the band's evolution from hungry upstarts to the influential force that would help shape Norwegian extreme metal. Every riff hits like a sledgehammer, every growl carries the weight of genuine underground passion.
