Before Norway became synonymous with black metal's icy grip, the land of fjords spawned some absolutely crushing death metal bands. Cadaver stands as one of the most important pioneers of this scene, and "Demos & Live 1988-1991" captures them at their most raw and uncompromising. This essential compilation documents the complete early output of Anders Odden's death metal machine before they unleashed their landmark album "Hallucinating Anxiety" in 1990.

What makes Cadaver so special? They were the first Norwegian band to push speed limits with blast beats that the scene hadn't witnessed before. From DIY "hairdryer-and-distortion" effects simulating thunder in their early intros to their avant-garde approach to songwriting, this release documents a band that refused to fit into any box. The collection spans their "Into The Outside" demo from 1988, the crushing "Abnormal Deformity" demo from 1989, explosive live performances from Sarpsborg and Oslo, plus unreleased material from their 1991 sessions. Completely remastered from original tapes by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony, every brutal riff and thunderous blast beat hits with devastating clarity.
