Background information about 'Demos & Live 1988-1991'

Before Norway became the undisputed kingdom of black metal, the fjords echoed with the crushing sounds of death metal pioneers like Cadaver. This compilation is nothing short of a treasure trove for anyone who worships at the altar of early extreme metal. Founded by underground legend Anders Odden in 1988, Cadaver carved their name into Norwegian metal history with razor-sharp precision and uncompromising brutality.

"Demos & Live 1988-1991" captures the raw, unfiltered essence of a band that would eventually secure a deal with Necrosis Records – the label run by Carcass members Jeff Walker and Bill Steer. This collection showcases the primal fury that led to their landmark 1990 album "Hallucinating Anxiety". Every track here pulses with the kind of authentic underground energy that modern productions simply cannot replicate. The remastering by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony brings new life to these historic recordings while preserving their original savagery. The extensive 32-page booklet, crafted in classic fanzine style, features rare photos and an in-depth interview with Anders Odden that provides fascinating insights into Cadaver's formative years.
