Background information about 'Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise'

Cannabis Corpse delivers another devastating blow to the death metal scene with "Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise", their most refined and brutal offering yet. This Richmond-based quintet has perfected their signature blend of technical death metal prowess and cannabis-themed lyrical content, creating an album that's both cerebrally crushing and surprisingly sophisticated. From the atmospheric opener "Visions from the Dank Side" to the crushing title track finale, every moment showcases the band's evolution into a truly formidable force within extreme metal circles.

The production quality here is absolutely stellar, allowing each instrument to breathe while maintaining that crushing wall of sound that defines modern death metal. Tracks like "Lunatic of Pot's Creation" and "Dead by Bong" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks within their technical framework, while "Immortal Pipes" and "Blaze of Torment" showcase their more experimental tendencies. The guitar work is particularly noteworthy, weaving intricate melodies through the brutal rhythmic foundation, and the drumming provides a relentless backbone that drives each composition forward with precision and power.
