Black music cassette.

Background information about 'The Unspoken King'

When Cryptopsy unleashed "The Unspoken King" back in 2008, it sent shockwaves through the extreme metal community that are still reverberating today. This controversial chapter in the Canadian death metal legends' discography marked a bold departure from their signature brutal sound, incorporating clean vocals and more accessible songwriting that divided fans and critics alike. Yet time has been kind to this polarizing release, revealing layers of sophistication and technical prowess that were initially overshadowed by the heated debates surrounding its stylistic shifts.

The album showcases Cryptopsy's willingness to push boundaries and explore new territories, even at the risk of alienating their core fanbase. Tracks like "Worship Your Demons" and "The Headsmen" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks while maintaining their trademark intensity, while deeper cuts like "Contemplate Regicide" reveal intricate arrangements that reward repeated listening. The production is crisp and powerful, allowing every element to breathe while preserving the crushing weight that Cryptopsy is known for.

For fans of: Gorguts, Suffocation, Ulcerate, and Immolation
