Background information about 'And Then You'll Beg'

Cryptopsy's "And Then You'll Beg" stands as a monumental achievement in technical death metal, showcasing the Canadian legends at their most ferocious and uncompromising. Originally released in 2000, this album captures the band during a period of intense creativity and brutal precision. The nine tracks deliver relentless blast beats, intricate guitar work, and Lord Worm's distinctive vocal approach that ranges from guttural growls to piercing shrieks. Songs like "We Bleed" and "Voice Of Unreason" demonstrate the band's ability to balance technical prowess with raw aggression, while "Soar And Envision Sore Vision" pushes the boundaries of what extreme metal can achieve.

The album's production perfectly complements the chaotic yet controlled nature of Cryptopsy's songwriting. Each track flows seamlessly into the next, creating an overwhelming sonic assault that never lets up. The rhythm section provides an unshakeable foundation for the guitar work to soar above, while the vocals serve as the perfect catalyst for the musical madness. From the opening moments of "...And Then It Passes" to the crushing finale of "Screams Go Unheard", this record remains a testament to the band's position as pioneers of technical death metal.
