Background information about 'Circle The Wagons'

Darkthrone delivers another crushing blow to the black metal establishment with "Circle The Wagons", their fifteenth studio album that sees the Norwegian legends continuing their relentless evolution. This isn't just another black metal record – it's a masterclass in how to keep the underground spirit alive while pushing boundaries. The duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto have crafted nine tracks of pure Norwegian fury, blending their trademark raw production with surprisingly catchy riffs that'll have you headbanging from the opening assault of "Those Treasures Will Never Befall You" right through to the Swedish-titled closer "Bränn Inte Slottet".

What makes this album absolutely essential is how Darkthrone manages to sound both timeless and fresh simultaneously. Tracks like "I Am The Working Class" showcase their punk influences more prominently than ever, while "Black Mountain Totem" delivers that classic Norwegian black metal atmosphere we've come to worship. The production maintains that beloved lo-fi aesthetic that made them legends, but there's a clarity here that lets every riff cut through like a blade. This is Darkthrone at their most accessible without compromising an ounce of their underground credibility – a rare feat that only true masters can achieve.
