Background information about 'Mass Destroyer'
Swedish death metal veterans Demonical return with their sixth full-length offering, delivering a crushing sonic assault that showcases the band's evolution while staying true to their brutal roots. "Mass Destroyer" stands as a testament to the group's refined songwriting approach, blending relentless aggression with carefully crafted dynamics that keep listeners engaged throughout its eight-track journey. The album benefits from pristine production work at Sweden's Glashuset Studios and Tri-Lamb Studios, where Karl Daniel Lidén handled both mixing and mastering duties, resulting in a sound that's both devastatingly heavy and crystal clear.
The record demonstrates Demonical's ability to balance old-school death metal sensibilities with modern production values, creating an atmosphere that's simultaneously nostalgic and fresh. Tracks like "We Conquer The Throne" and "Fallen Mountain" showcase the band's knack for memorable hooks without sacrificing any of their trademark brutality. The rhythm section of Martin Schulman on bass and Ronnie Bergerståhl behind the kit provides an unshakeable foundation, while guitarists Eki Kumpulainen and Johan Haglund deliver both crushing riffs and soaring leads that complement Christofer Säterdalʼs commanding vocal performance.
