Background information about 'Mad Butcher'

There are records that simply refuse to age, and "Mad Butcher" is exactly one of those freaks of nature. Released at a moment when Destruction were still sharpening their blades into something genuinely dangerous, this MLP captures the German thrash legends at their most feral and hungry. The title track is an absolute slaughterhouse of riffs, the kind of thing that makes you want to punch the air and scream along even four decades later. Schmier's unmistakable snarl leads the charge while the guitars carve through everything in their path like a chainsaw through warm butter.

What makes this commemorative edition so special is the sheer care behind it. High Roller Records have gone all in for the 40 Years of Unlimited Thrash celebration, pressing the whole thing onto picture vinyl and housing it in a heavyweight 425gsm cardboard cover with a printed inner sleeve and poster. The mastering was handled by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony, and crucially, it keeps the original 1987 sound intact. No brickwalled remaster nonsense here, just the raw, untamed fury that made these early Destruction recordings so lethal in the first place. This is thrash metal the way it was meant to be heard: ugly, fast, and gloriously unpolished.
