Personal experience has always been the raw fuel of great art, and Domkraft have never shied away from that. When guitarist Martin Widholm was hit by a traumatic medical crisis in 2025, the echoes found their way straight into the Swedes' fifth album, Night Songs. But this isn't just a document of hardship. The title reaches into something far bigger: the eternal tug of war between darkness and light. It could be the state of the world, the weight of personal struggle, or simply the night itself. The night can be a time of regret, solitude and sleeplessness, or it can flip into a calm pocket of relief, relaxation and even wild abandon. All of it happens after dark. And underneath it all, Night Songs might just be about resilience.

Let's be real: Domkraft were never going to make a quiet record. These three men bonded over SPACEMEN 3, MONSTER MAGNET, SLEEP and HAWKWIND, and their monolithic 2016 debut The End of Electricity pulled equally from heaviness, psychedelia and hypnotic minimalism. That DNA is still burning here. Recorded at the legendary Studio Gröndahl in Stockholm with David Castillo (OPETH, CANDLEMASS, KATATONIA) and mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (GREENLEAF, LOWRIDER, BREACH) to keep their sonic identity intact, Night Songs should be swallowed like a feverish, dream-like cocktail. Equal parts deafening quiet and soothing loud, sprinkled with insomnia, relief, contemplation, and a dash of red-hot anger for raw spice. This is music that pulls you under and holds you there.
