Background information about 'Parasomnia'

"Parasomnia," Dream Theater's sixteenth studio album, is a monumental return for the progressive music titans. This album marks the first collaboration between the iconic lineup of James LaBrie, John Petrucci, John Myung, Jordan Rudess, and Mike Portnoy since 2009’s "Black Clouds & Silver Linings." Produced by Petrucci and mixed by Andy Sneap, "Parasomnia" captivates listeners with intricate compositions that traverse the realms of consciousness and dream states. The cover art, envisioned by Hugh Syme, encapsulates the album's thematic depth.

The album kicks off with "In The Arms Of Morpheus," setting a dynamic tone for the auditory journey ahead. Over its 71-minute runtime, Dream Theater crafts a tapestry of sound that intertwines technical prowess with emotive storytelling. Each track unfolds like a chapter in a novel, culminating in "The Shadow Man Incident." This release not only reaffirms Dream Theater's legacy but also introduces new sonic dimensions, making it an essential addition to any progressive rock collection.
