Background information about 'Back To The Front'

When Entombed A.D. unleashed "Back To The Front" in 2014, they delivered a crushing statement that proved Swedish death metal was far from finished. This album marks a triumphant return to form, combining the band's legendary Stockholm sound with a renewed sense of urgency and precision. Tracks like "Kill To Live" and "Bedlam Attack" showcase the group's ability to craft devastating riffs while maintaining the melodic sensibilities that made them pioneers of the genre. The production is crisp yet retains that essential rawness, allowing each crushing chord progression and thunderous drum pattern to hit with maximum impact.

The album's 11 tracks flow seamlessly from one punishing anthem to the next, with standout moments like the epic "Soldier Of No Fortune" demonstrating the band's expanded compositional range. "Digitus Medius" serves as perhaps the album's most adventurous track, stretching beyond six minutes while never losing its grip on the listener. The rhythm section provides an absolutely devastating foundation throughout, while the guitar work alternates between buzzsaw aggression and surprisingly nuanced melodic passages that recall the best moments of Swedish extreme metal's golden era.
