Background information about 'Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love'
Forgotten Tomb delivers a crushing blow to the soul with "Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love", an album that stands as a monument to despair and self-destruction. This Italian blackened doom outfit has crafted six tracks of pure emotional devastation, where each riff cuts deeper than the last and every vocal line drips with existential anguish. The opening salvo "Soulless Upheaval" sets the tone immediately – a relentless march through psychological torment that showcases the band's ability to blend the ferocity of black metal with the crushing weight of doom.
The title track serves as the album's emotional centerpiece, a nearly ten-minute journey through the darkest corners of human experience. "King Of The Undesirables" and "Bad Dreams Come True" maintain the suffocating atmosphere, while "Mislead The Snakes" and "Dread The Sundown" close the album with an overwhelming sense of finality. The production perfectly captures the raw intensity while maintaining clarity in the chaos – every tortured scream and thunderous drum hit resonates with devastating impact.
