Background information about 'Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love'
Forgotten Tomb's album "Hurt Yourself and the Ones You Love" is a profound exploration of human despair, blending elements of Black Metal and Doom Metal into an unsettling yet captivating sonic experience. The Italian band continues to push the boundaries of darkness with their unique sound that is both melancholic and malevolent. This release sees Forgotten Tomb embracing organic production techniques to deliver a raw and unfiltered auditory assault that retains an old-school vibe while sounding remarkably fresh.
On this record, frontman Ferdinando "Herr Morbid" Marchisio leads the charge with his tormented vocal delivery and haunting guitar work. Themes of inner turmoil and existential dread ripple through tracks like "Soulless Upheaval" and "King Of The Undesirables," creating an oppressive atmosphere that engulfs the listener. Despite its sinister overtones, the album is not without moments of introspection, offering brief respites amidst the chaos that invite contemplation on life's darker aspects.
