Background information about 'Djinn'
UADA returns with their third full-length offering "Djinn", a mesmerizing journey through atmospheric black metal landscapes that showcases the band's evolution while maintaining their signature sound. The Portland-based quartet delivers six expansive compositions that blend melodic passages with crushing intensity, creating an album that feels both intimate and grandiose. The opening title track sets the tone with its haunting melodies and dynamic shifts, while "The Great Mirage" builds upon layers of atmospheric guitars and relentless drumming that pulls listeners deeper into UADA's sonic realm.
The album's centerpiece, the thirteen-minute epic "No Place Here", demonstrates the band's mastery of long-form composition, weaving together moments of quiet introspection with explosive black metal fury. Tracks like "Forestless" and the closing "Between Two Worlds" showcase UADA's ability to create immersive soundscapes that transport listeners to otherworldly dimensions. The production maintains a perfect balance between clarity and rawness, allowing each instrument to breathe while preserving the essential darkness that defines their aesthetic.
