Background information about 'Drif'
"Drif," the third album by Heilung, is a sonic journey that transcends the traditional boundaries of music genres. Known for their unique amalgamation of ancient sounds and modern production techniques, Heilung has crafted an album that is both timeless and contemporary. With "Drif," the ensemble explores various ancient civilizations beyond their previous focus on medieval Northern Europe. The album's atmospheric and ritualistic soundscapes are meticulously designed to evoke a connection between the listener and humanity's primordial essence.
The tracks in "Drif" are a meditative exploration of both history and mythology, each song unfolding layers of rich storytelling through lyrical depth and instrumental mastery. The use of traditional instruments combined with electronic elements provides an immersive experience that captures the imagination and invites introspection. Fans of Wardruna, Nest, and Skuggsja will find resonance in Heilung's latest offering.
