Background information about 'The Hidden Hand'

There are albums that you listen to, and then there are albums that completely take over your senses. If These Trees Could Talk's "The Hidden Hand" firmly belongs in the latter category. The Ohio-based instrumental post-metal collective have crafted something truly monumental here — a record that doesn't just speak, it roars, whispers, and everything in between.

From the very first notes, you're pulled into a cinematic soundscape that feels both massive and intimately personal. The band has always had a knack for weaving intricate guitar melodies through crushing walls of distortion, but on "The Hidden Hand", they've perfected that balance. Tracks like the opener hit you with a wave of emotion that's hard to put into words — it's triumphant, melancholic, and absolutely breathtaking. The rhythm section locks in with surgical precision, driving each movement forward while the guitars paint these expansive, sky-gazing soundscapes. This isn't background music; this is the kind of record that demands your full attention, rewarding you with new layers and hidden details with every listen. The production is crystal clear yet retains that raw, organic warmth that makes instrumental music feel alive. If you're a fan of bands that can tell a story without a single word, this is essential listening.
