Background information about 'The Hidden Hand'
Ohio's finest purveyors of instrumental post-metal are back with a statement. If These Trees Could Talk have never been a band to rush things - their meticulous approach to crafting soundscapes has earned them a devoted following over the years, and "The Hidden Hand" is the kind of record that reminds you why patience is a virtue in heavy music.
Across six sprawling tracks, the quintet weave a tapestry of shimmering guitar melodies, thunderous rhythm sections, and moments of breathtaking quietude that hit harder than any breakdown ever could. The album ebbs and flows like a living organism - from the delicate opener that slowly unfurls into a wall of distortion, to the crushing crescendos that feel like catharsis itself. There's a cinematic quality to their compositions that sets them apart from the post-rock crowd; these aren't just songs, they're narratives without words, telling stories through dynamics and texture. The production is absolutely massive, giving every cymbal crash and palm-muted riff the space it deserves.
